With Lake Michigan to the east and the downtown skyline serving as an impressive backdrop to the north, the location of Soldier Field - Home of the Chicago Bears Football Team is awe-inspiring. Special construction feature: A 61,500 seat bowl fitting snugly into the existing historic colonnade structure. This is a landmark project reliant upon 3-D Modelling to fit a new structure into old, the structural engineers model was shared with the fabricator (Hirschfeld Steel) and used to develop fabrication details from the complex radial geometry. This project has been a successful guinea pig for 3-D Modelling on large, fast tracked design & build projects. | |
